Why Hire a U.S. Attorney?

Why Hire an Out-of-State Franchise Lawyer?

International Franchising Law Attorney Helping Clients Globally

The United States has stood at the forefront of international franchise law for decades. Since the creation of the Ford and McDonald's franchises in the 1950s and 60s, U.S. franchise law has set the stage for global franchise transactions and operations.

Whether you are seeking a franchise in the U.S. as a foreign investor, or looking to gain a master franchise in your home country, I can help you. I am Mario L. Herman, an international franchise law lawyer. I have more than 25 years of experience representing franchisees across the U.S. and around the world.

Hire an Attorney With Experience

Why would you hire an out-of-state franchise attorney? With the ever-increasing speed of global communication, it is no longer important that you have an attorney in your neighborhood. You need a specialist who can help you regardless of where you are located. Franchise law requires specialized experience and knowledge.

As a franchise attorney I handle cases all over the country and internationally. My specialty is franchisee law and I have represented franchisees from over 150 different systems in 40 states and 10 foreign countries.

How Would It Work to Hire an Attorney in a Different Jurisdiction?

If there is a case that is filed in court, I will hire local counsel to get me admitted pro hac vice for that specific case. I am licensed in Washington, D.C., but have handled cases filed in many different jurisdictions. I have represented clients and lectured on franchise law in foreign countries, including Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Belize, Australia, China, Poland, Germany, Brazil, the United Kingdom and many others.

For arbitration and mediation, it is even easier for me to handle cases on a global and national scale. Usually a formal process is not involved with alternative dispute resolution.

It is more important for you to have the right attorney (i.e., a franchise law specialist) than to have an attorney who is geographically proximate. Please take the time to choose the right franchise law attorney for you and your franchise.
